Credit Card Fraud in Richmond Hill - SMH!!!

A cast of unsavory characters from Queens was busted for allegedly manufacturing thousands of bogus credit cards and using them on massive shopping sprees and luxury vacations, The Post has learned.
The two-year investigation ended this week, as authorities smashed several fraud rings and arrested 110 people around the borough, according to court records and sources.
“They went everywhere -- Apple stores, Macy’s, Nordstrom’s, anywhere you can possible imagine,” said a law-enforcement source.
One of the rings was led by Amar Singh, who was described in court papers as “overseeing the entire operation” -- including an army of shoppers and fences to convert high-end goods to cash.
Singh allegedly received blank credit cards and account numbers from his contacts and had a whole crew of henchmen to help cash in with the phony plastic.
To complete the ruse, the crew allegedly forged identity cards.
Sources said that Singh employed his girlfriend, Neaj Punjani Singh, 21, as his top lieutenant -- and that she would receive the high-ticket items purchased with the fake cards and funnel the cash through her personal bank account.
“They all go shopping: You go here, you go there, you buy this, you buy that,” the source said.
Both Singhs were held on $1 million bail.
The Queens District Attorney’s Office and the NYPD declined comment, citing a press conference planned for today.
Investigators had been watching the various rings for two years, according to sources.
One defendant, Carlos Plaza, 26, was using forged cards to jet down to Miami and Puerto Rico on a private jet, the sources said.
“They were partying. This was bought on stolen credit cards,” a source said.
Plaza is charged with enterprise corruption, identity theft and grand larceny.
He allegedly manufactured credit cards in his Richmond Hill home and was held on $250,000 bail.
Investigators, who used extensive wiretaps, also came across other crimes during the probe, sources said.
Angel Quinones, a security guard with military experience, was charged with grand larceny for allegedly stealing more than $850,000 worth of computer equipment from a Citigroup location. He was held on $100,000 bail.
The parade of arrests had local bail bondsmen working overtime.
“This is a once-a-year kind of bust. These are the biggest enterprise-corruption cases we’ve seen,” said Jason Fordin, vice president of Empire Bail Bonds, noting that the only roundups of this size had involved gambling.
The credit-card fraud defendants represent “the diversity of Queens,” he said.

Words Do Hurt... Sometimes Too Much!!

Serious Topic... Today I learned of a young boy by the name of Jamey Rodemeyer of Buffalo, NY who committed suicide because he was bullied. This is the second major case of bullying that has hit the news within the recent months, but I'm sure there are more that never go public or we simply do not find out the true reason. Let's face it, everyone, at least once or twice in their life, experiences some type of bullying; most occurring while they are at some type of school. Unfortunately, no one can read minds. I am sure if the kids who bullied Jamey knew his thoughts would have stopped. Smiles, laughs, and saying "whatever" does not mean the person is simply brushing it off. Name calling and singling a person out for who they are can be very painful to a someone who already feels they are in a world where they have no one to turn to. After reading the recent Twitter posts by Lady Gaga, I am 100% in support for making any form of bullying illegal and a hate crime! We live in a society that is built on uniqueness. We are our own people and should never forget that. At the same time, we should remember that we should never be afraid to be who we really deep down inside. Don't be someone your not just to make the people are you feel better. One thing I learned a very long time ago... there is only one person you need to impress... yourself! I want everyone to watch the video below and listen to what Jamey says. This is truly one of the most heartbreaking video's I've ever seen....

West Indian Day Parade 2011 - NYPD

Today was actually the first time I decided to sit down and actually watch the video of the NYPD officers that were caught on camera "dirty dancing" with people in the parade. I read quite a few comments from people stating that they did nothing wrong and no repercussions should come from it. I understand what these people are saying, but lets break it down in simple terms. I see NYPD patrol cars with the logo CPR - Courtesy Professionalism Respect - keyword Professionalism. Much like any job, while you are on the clock, you are expected to conduct yourself in a certain manner especially if you provide a service to the community. Would you be able to dance at your job or even go outside the rules of conduct and expect Human Resources to be okay with it? Most companies, much like mine, would say "Good-bye and goodluck!" At the end of they day, they are still NYPD Officers and they must conduct themselves with some type of professionalism as they were in that parade to protect and serve. I saw too many instances while these officers were dancing that someone could have easily knocked them out and taken their gun turning the parade into a nightmare.

Even though the cops know how to have a good time, it should be done while they are not on duty and not responsible for the safety of the hundreds of people around them!
